Representation

Finland
organises
a
Conference:
15
YEARS
OF
AREA
OF
FREEDOM,
SECURITY
AND
JUSTICE
EU
STRATEGY
FOR
THE
NEXT
DECADE
The
European
Council
held
a
special
meeting
in
Tampere
in
October
1999
on
the
creation
of
an
area
of
freedom,
security
and
justice
in
the
European
Union.
Much
has
been
achieved
based
on
the
Tampere
and
subsequent
Hague
and
Stockholm
Programmes.
The
next
European
Commission
will
take
the
work
further,
using
a
number
of
strategic
documents
by
various
EU
Institutions
as
the
starting
point.
As
the
new
College
is
taking
up
its
work,
the
Commission
invites
Member
States
and
stakeholders
to
contribute
to
the
discussions
at
a
conference
in
Tampere.
