The Work Programme is anchored in the ten political priorities of the Commission and
*
takes forward several key strategies from the 2015 Work Programme, including the
Digital Single Market Strategy, the Energy Union, the Labour Mobility Package, the
European Agenda on Migration, the Capitals Markets Union, the Action Plan for Fair
and Efficient Corporate Taxation, the new Trade Strategy and our proposals to deepen
and strengthen the Economic and Monetary Union.
As was the case last year, this Work Programme prioritises actions under the Regulatory
Fitness and Performance Programme (REFIT) ensuring that EU legislation remains fit
for purpose and delivers the results intended. The Commission has taken note and
welcomes the priorities that several chambers have identified in this regard.
Deepening the Commission's constructive relations with national Parliaments remains a
priority for this Commission and we are looking forward to continuing our political
dialogue.
Yours faithfully,
Frans Timmermans
First Vice-President
