Consultation response; Commission staff working document
(SWD) on Scenarios for the transition pathway for a resilient,
greener and more digital construction ecosystem
The Danish government welcomes the Commission’s work for the transition pathway
for a resilient, greener and more digital construction ecosystem and appreciates the op-
portunity to respond to the consultation of the SWD.
From a Danish perspective, we would like to underline the importance of the revision
of the Construction Products Regulation to provide a regulatory framework to com-
municate and declare environmental performances of construction products in a har-
monized and standardized manner. In this context, it is important that the solution cho-
sen for the declaration of sustainability properties is comparable across the different
directives to which construction products are subject. It is here important to take into
account the already significant work with the Environmental Product Declarations un-
der the Construction Products Regulation, which already forms the basis for many con-
struction product declarations. It is also important that it supports the Ecodesign regu-
lation that is essential for achieving the EU's ambition to improve energy efficiency.
The Danish government is looking forward to the future work on the transition pathway
for a more resilient, greener and digital construction ecosystem.
