VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE
17/7-2022/225084
Kyiv, 29 December 2022
Dear Colleague,
Let me start by extending my heartfelt appreciation and deep gratitude for standing firm
and united with the Ukrainian people in the face of russian aggression as we continue to
defend our sovereignty, European values and freedoms, protecting the whole democratic
world.
Your constant support and dedication helps Ukraine in its heroic fight against our
common enemy bringing us closer to our victory. It also enables the Ukrainian Parliament to
proceed with its intense law-making activity in the area of European integration to secure
Ukraine’s place in the European family through adopting corresponding legislation.
In pursuance of our commitments to fulfill Recommendations of the EU Commission
for Ukraine’s EU candidate status by the end of this year, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has
successfully completed its work as for those recommendations that required legislative
intervention. We have also done much of the work within our international legal commitments
set out in the Association Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine. The Report
attached hereto demonstrates the relevant systematic work done by the Parliament since
Ukraine has been granted the European Union candidate status.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is grateful for the unwavering support of Ukraine
towards its full-fledged membership with the EU. We look forward to opening accession
negotiations with the EU and count on your solidarity and assistance in pursuit of our common
victory.
Taking this opportunity, let me, dear Colleague, congratulate you on the New Year 2023
and wish you and your families health, happiness, love and, last but not least, peace in the
upcoming year.
Sincerely,
Chairman
of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine
Ruslan STEFANCHUK
