Dear Commissioner Johansson,
With reference to my letters of 4 August 2023 and 10 August 2023 regarding
temporary border control at the Danish internal borders, I hereby wish to
inform you that due to recommendations from the Danish Security and In-
telligence Service and with reference to the reasons stated in my letter of 4
August 2023 the period in which the border control may be intensified is
maintained for the time being until 22 august 2023.
The Danish Government will inform the other Member States that the inten-
sified Danish internal border controls as mentioned in out letter of 4 August
2023 will continue for the time being until 22 August 2023.
