According to “Doing Business 2020” by World Bank, Georgia takes 7th position amongst 190 countries.
According to the Democracy Report 2023 by “Varieties of Democracy" (V-DEM) Georgia ranks among the
top ten countries out of 179 in the world with 10 years of democratization progress.
According to the World Justice Project's 2023 Rule of Law Index, Georgia is ranked #1 in the Eastern Europe

87 out of 100 in terms of
State Budget Transparency
. Georgia ranked first out of 120 countries in the global
ranking on this indicator.
The Corruption Perception Index of Transparency International 2022 ranks Georgia 41st out of 180 countries
in the world. It is noteworthy that Georgia is a leader in the region. For comparison, Georgia ranked 45th in
2021, and 51st in 2012.
In Global Risk Profile's Global Corruption Index 2023, Georgia ranks 43rd out of 196 countries in the world.

According to the report “Transparency in the Time of War” by the European Research Centre for Anti-
Corruption and State-Building, Georgia ranks 17th in the Transparency Index 2023, ahead of 15 EU member
states, four G7 member states, and others.
Georgia ranks 32nd out of 114 countries in Integrity Index 2021 of the European Research Centre for Anti-
corruption and State-Building (ERCAS) with a score of 7.39, holding the 1st position in Eastern Europe and
Central Asia, and 2

among post-Soviet countries.
According to the Trace Bribery Risk Matrix 2022, Georgia ranks 33rd out of 194 countries and is ahead of
many EU and NATO countries, as well as all EU candidate states. Georgia ranks as a leader in subcategory -
“Low level of corruption within the government”.
Based on the Investment Policy Assessment (2020) Georgia for the first time was included in the
Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) FDI Regulatory Restrictiveness Index,
and in this study Georgia was ranked 8th among more than 80 countries as one of the most open economies
in the world in terms of attracting investments.
According to the Fraser Institute’s Economic Freedom of the World 2023 report, Georgia ranks among the
top 25 countries with the freest economy. Georgia is ahead of countries such as Austria, Norway, Israel,
Spain, Belgium, France, Italy, Poland, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, UAE, China, and more. The global ranking stands
at 25th out of 165.
The Heritage Foundation Index of Economic Freedom 2023 ranks Georgia 21

score of 61.69, ahead of countries such as Ukraine, Albania, Serbia, Israel, Greece etc. For comparison,
Georgia ranked 89

According to Freedom House Internet Freedom Index 2023 (Freedom on the Net 2023) Georgia is among
“Free Countries” and ranks 11th out of 70 countries with a score of 76 out of 100;
Georgia is ahead of countries like Singapore, Macedonia, Poland, Greece, Moldova, Montenegro, Israel,
Hungary, Serbia, Ukraine and others according to the Fraser Institute and Cato Institute Human Freedom
Index 2022. The global ranking is 43rd out of 165.
According to the NUMBEO Crime Index 2023, Georgia is one of the safest countries in the world with a
score of 74.1. The global ranking is 18

out of 142 countries.
Fitch Ratings affirmed Georgia's Long-Term Foreign-Currency Issuer Default Rating (IDR) at 'BB' with a
Positive Outlook (July, 2023). The Positive Outlook reflects a very strong economic recovery combined with
a fall in inflation and an improved external position.
According to the updated assessment and long-term forecasts of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for
2022-2028, Georgia ranks second in the world, and first in the Eastern Hemisphere (Eurasia, Africa,
Australia, Oceania) with the following indicators: real GDP per capita growth in 2022-2028, GDP per capita
growth rate based on purchasing power parity (PPP), and GDP per capita PPP growth rate at constant prices.
Georgia ranks 63rd out of 191 countries on the UNDP's Human Development Index (HDI) with a score
of 0.802. This places Georgia in the top group of countries with very high human development.
In the 2023 Global Hunger Index (GHI), Georgia ranks among the top 20 countries worldwide, with a GHI
score of less than 5, indicating a low level of hunger.
