Dear colleagues,
We are honoured to invite you to Brussels to take part in the COSAC plenary
meeting from 24 to 26 March 2024, the closing event of the parliamentary dimension
of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The conference will start on Sunday 24 March with a visit to the Brussels City Hall
or the Brussels Stock Exchange building and its museum dedicated to our national
beverage, beer. Following these visits, there will be a dinner reception at the
Belgian Federal Parliament.
The plenary sessions will take place on Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 March.
This important event will take place in Brussels, inside the European Parliament, at
the very heart of the institution that represents the citizens of the European Union.
The first working session on 25 March will be devoted to the review of the 2019-
2024 European legislature and the prospects for the Council’s strategic agenda for
2024-2029. The second session will address gender policy and the representation
of women and men in parliament. Finally, the COSAC Chairpersons will meet to
examine the draft contribution and conclusions.
This first day will close with a visit and dinner at the Tour & Taxis site, a characteristic
place, formerly a customs centre, now redeveloped to offer visitors an intimate look
at the culture of Brussels.
